On the job: Problem-solving with Brian Egan

We like a good challenge here at CCKB and were recently given a great test of our problem solving skills. Our client came to us for a solution to their problem of wanting to replace a cooking range with a separate cook top and wall oven. Their cabinets were fairly new so they did not want full replacement. The granite counter tops were impossible to match so we were limited in our options.
Our solution was to remove a section of the granite counter, build new cabinets just where needed for the new layout and then re-install the counter. The cabinet doors and stain color were a tough match but our cabinetmaker duplicated the existing cabinets so well that you cannot tell the new cabinets from the old. The counter had to be be cut for length plus a hole cut for the cook top but our fabricator did a great job of making a virtually seamless installation.   In the end our client was thrilled with the changes to their kitchen.
